ACTED AME Assistant Job in Kenya


AME Assistant

ACTED (Agency for Technical Cooperation and Development) is a non-governmental organization created in 1993. 
Independent, private and not-for-profit, ACTED respects a strict political and religious impartiality and operates according to non-discrimination and transparency principles. 
ACTED’s vocation is to support vulnerable populations worldwide and to accompany them in the construction of a better future. 
The programmes implemented by ACTED in Africa, Asia, Middle East and Latin America/Caribbean, aim at addressing the needs of the populations affected by wars, natural catastrophes and/or economical and social crises. 
ACTED has been present in Uganda since 2007, and currently implements its interventions in Gulu and Oyam as well as in ‘Nakapiripirit (Karamoja region) where the organization works on a cross-border basis with West Pokot County of Kenya.

1. Job Title:  Appraisal Monitoring & Evaluation (AME) assistant (2 positions)

2. Reporting to: Area AME Officer Karamoja/Pokot/Turkana

3. Duty Station: Turkana – Pokot Areas

4.  Duties and Responsibilities
  • Obtaining all data from primary sources as stipulated in the monitoring and evaluation plan;
  • Participate in needs assessment, evaluation preparation and implementation of projects;
  • Supervision of enumerators when necessary;
  • Providing data to Data Officer on a monthly basis;
  • Undertake routine quality control of project activities using key performance indicator;
  • Collect and collect data as well as managing project data bases;
  • Facilitate project staff to undertake routine monitoring activities;
  • Carry out regular field monitoring visits to ascertain project progress;
  • Identify information needs, performance questions related to key indicators and targets for each project component to track progress;
  • Write monthly monitoring and evaluation reports;
  • Case studies and lessons learned documentation
  • Supervise data collection and ensure data quality control in the field;
  • Any other duties assigned by the supervisor
5. Requirements
The Person:
  • You will have a professional qualification from a recognized institution in the related field preferably, social sciences, statistics, Agriculture, Rural development and any relevant qualification.
  • Proven professional experience or technical background (at least 2 years) in M&E or research and working experience in implementing community projects with an international NGO preferred.
  • You will be able to plan and manage a complex and busy workload.
  • You will have excellent documentation and recording skills including the use of MS Office, data analysis and management computer packages, ability and commitment to work with community members in a sensitive, non-judgmental and objective manner, combined with ability to apply experimental learning.
  • You will have ability to work as a part of a diverse team irrespective of ethnicity, gender or age and adhere to the ethos and values of the projects.
