Egis Construction Specialist Job in Kenya

Egis Kenya Limited, a subsidiary of Egis Group, an international multi-sector technical and management consultancy headquartered in France, is involved in infrastructure projects in East Africa and has been experiencing constant growth in the last 5 years.

As a result, Egis Kenya Limited is seeking to recruit for the Egis Group, a Construction Specialist to join the Resident Team on a major aviation related project in which the company is currently involved.
 

The Position: Construction Specialist

This is a position for an individual with 5 to 10 years of experience in construction supervision and/or management

.
The incumbent shall be expected to share his/her expertise with the Resident Team, as well as with Clients, Authorities, Contractors and investors. In order to effectively transmit his/her expertise, the incumbent shall have excellent communication skills, both written and oral. 

The individual will be fully integrated in the existing Resident Team and will be reporting to the Team Leader. 

Finally, the position is expected to develop in a more specialized airport construction management role, under the supervision and mentoring of the experienced Egis Senior Management.

Job description:

The successful candidate shall assist the Resident Team in the completion of tasks that will be assigned to him/her, and shall include the following:

• Quality Assurance - will assist the Resident Team on a variety of QA checks throughout the project responsibilities.
• Planning Coordination - will work with senior management to follow through on various project planning technical assistance actions.
• Report to Resident Team for onsite project construction inspections and progress as directed. Candidate must be physically capable to actively visit project construction sites
• Construction and contractor assessment as directed
• Participation in meetings and assistance on preparation of Reports, Meeting Minutes and Presentations
• Assistance on mobilization of key and short term consultancies
• Provision of technical assistance and reviews for tender documentation completeness

The candidate will be expected to be physically active and proactive on the airport construction project site, investigating, and reporting to the Resident Team on assigned tasks.

Requirements:

• Relevant Bachelors Degree
• 5 to 10 yrs of experience in construction management/supervision of buildings and large facilities as opposed to roads/ underground utilities
• Aviation building/ facilities experience will be a major plus
• Be registered/ chartered (or be close to achieving registered status)
• Self-starting individual, with keen desire to tackle all assignments proactively and willing to engage in mentoring from senior staff.
• Must project a professional character
• Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must be organized and have excellent communication skills in English (both written and oral)
• Selected candidate will be mentored by the senior management team with the objective of training the position to a level consistent with more senior management expertise.
