Continous Quality Improvement (CQI) Officer

Job Summary

The incumbent will serve as a CQI Officer to the HIV/AIDS programme. 
Working under the supervision of the Clinical Team lead, she/he will work primarily focusing on Continuous Quality Improvement and also offer technical support to implementing high quality TB/HIV treatment and Nutrition in HIV functions based on good working knowledge of PEPFAR.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Work with SI team to facilitate strategic and tactical planning for the quality improvement program, including needs assessments, evaluations, root cause analysis and interventions.
  • Provide direct technical assistance and mentoring to health facilities for continuous quality improvement and models for change.
  • Collate routine CQI reports from sites and provides guidance and recommendations related to tracked indicators and outcomes.
  • Mentor site teams to build local capacity for CQI activities and supervise the same with overall responsibility for providing support for clinical quality initiatives.
  • Analyze, update, and modify standard operating procedures and processes to continually improve QI services/operations.
  • Oversee the implementation of TB/HIV program activities in WRP supported facilities in Kisumu West.
  • Conduct trainings, mentorship and supportive supervision of health care workers on the nutritional management of HIV infected patients and exposed infants according to the national guidelines.
  • Collaborate and network with relevant stakeholders in the activities of early infant HIV diagnosis.
  • Work with fellow program officers in preparing regular activity reports for the clinical team lead as well as Director.
  • Taking part in internal and relevant external meetings with the aim of program strengthening and representation.
Required Skills
  • Working knowledge of HIV care and treatment delivery in a rural setting
  • Ability to interact proactively with health facility and Capacity Building Team
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Basic knowledge of statistics software
Qualifications
  • Diploma in Clinical Medicine & Surgery from a recognized institution.
  • Registered with Kenya Clinical Officers Council
  • At least 2 years of clinical hands on experience in providing intergrated HIV/AIDS services to diverse group of patients
  • Training in quality improvement models and experience in quality improvement projects for clinical intervention a strong plus
