Job Description / Responsibility
The role is for a Mid level to experienced java and web developer, with a strong understanding of 00 design and development principles, strong team working skills. The job location is in east coast USA. More details on the programme will be available once candidates have been shortlisted
The successful candidate must have strong communication and the ability and desire to work in a fast paced and challenging environment. He/she will have exposure to design and implementation of core Java applications as well as multi-tiered Java EE style applications. The candidate should be fluent in related technologies including Spring, relational databases (Sybase/Oracle/DB2), web browser display technologies, html, Javascript, web protocols and standards, and associated Java development tools. The candidate will have the opportunity to interact with business users to understand functional requirements, to create technical designs and to code and test these designs. The developer will interact closely with end-users and work in a team environment to enhance these various applications and be involved in all phases of the software development life cycle.

Additional Job Requirements
Skills Required:
Over 3 years of commercial java programming experience
Strong Java programming skills in both J2EE and J2SE.
Strong communication skills to interact with both business users as well as IT
Front end web development- HTML/JSP/Javascript
Light database query design and development skills - preferably in Sybase/Oracle 11
Ability to multitask and quickly respond to critical issues and changes in requirements.
Able to demonstrate in-depth understanding of OO principles, design patterns and some exposure to threading techniques
Financial services background is not essential, however, ability to work within tight deadlines and dynamic environment is.
Aptitude to learn business knowledge and new technologies.
A “Can do” attitude
Desired Skills:
Exposure to distributed Java applications, in a service based architecture
Exposure to web services and asynchronous Ul processing
Perl, Unix scripting
ANSI SQL knowledge is required. Oracle knowledge is highly desirable.
