proactive and self driven person to fill the following position.
Head Finance and Accounts
Position Function
To oversee financial and
accounting policies and advise management on finance matters affecting
the Bank to ensure maximum returns on the Bank’s investments and other
resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that the strategy for the Financial and Accounting function is developed, implemented, evaluated and regularly reviewed.
- Contribute to the development of policies in finance and in reviewing of formulated policies and ensuring adherence.
- Take charge of the finance and accounting activities of the Bank and put in place processes and procedures that ensure efficiency and compliance to necessary regulations.
- Ensure adequate internal controls and ensure compliance so as to secure the Bank’s resources.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and international financial reporting standards.
- Develop processes and procedures that ensure efficient flow of financial information from all outlets.
- Lead the budgeting process and develop processes that facilitate budgetary control.
- Ensure the availability of financial information to the various stakeholders of the Bank including the financial and management reports.
- To oversee and coordinate the function of the department and liaise with other departments.
- To coordinate the external and internal financial audit for the Bank.
Qualifications
- Masters Degree in Finance or in Business related field.
- Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Accounting option).
- CPA (K).
- Excellent understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards.
- Senior management courses and seminars.
- Computer proficiency with knowledge of accounting software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Work Experience
- 10 years accounting experience in a financial institution 3 of which should be in a senior management position.
