Automotive Jobs in Kenya


A leading heavy commercial motor company in East Africa is seeking to employ qualified candidates for the following positions.

1. Motor Vehicle Mechanics
2. Motor Vehicle Electricians
3. Service Advisor

They shall be responsible for the daily operations of the workshop ensuring that the customer needs and expectations are met through the diagnosis of motor vehicle faults and rectification via use of Workshop Business Process.

Core Responsibilities

1. Motor Vehicle Mechanics
  • Independently carry out repairs, calibrations and trouble shooting on vehicle systems, mechanical components using PC diagnostics with an emphasis on non-intermittent faults.
  • Diagnose, check and set the mechanical systems.
  • Ensure all job cards and service sheets are completed correctly
  • Set up accessories and specific equipments on the vehicles.
2. Motor Vehicle Electricians
  • As required, attend to disabled vehicles at the roadside or on customer premises following appropriate routines and procedures including roadside safety laws and regulations.
  • Provide technical advice to clients and colleagues.
  • Diagnose, check and set the electrical systems.
  • Ensure all job cards and service sheets are completed correctly.
3. Service Advisor
  • Provide the initial fault diagnosis to the customer, and schedule any required work with Workshop Planning System.
  • Manage quotation process, including checking customer credit rating.
  • Maintain open communication between the customer and workshop, to ensure the technician has the right information to correctly diagnose problems and that the customer requirements and expectations are met.
  • Build and develop customer relationships.
The positions require the highest levels of professional standards when discussing work with customers, suppliers and colleagues as well as complying with health and safety regulations and safe working practices.

Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge Required
  • Degree in Automotive / Mechanical/Electrical Engineering OR Diploma in above with relevant automotive technical qualifications with good experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent planning and organizing skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
The ideal candidates should have at least three years experience in a busy motor vehicle workshop preferably in heavy commercial vehicles.
