Call for Concept Notes: Competitive Value Chain Fund, Round Two
 
Theme: Improving Resilience and Livelihoods for Vulnerable Smallholder Farmers in East Africa (IRaL)
 
Farm Africa is an International Non-governmental Organisation (INGO) that works in remote and resource-poor rural areas in Ethiopia, Kenya, South Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda to end hunger and bring prosperity to rural Africa.

Farm Africa is now launching a call for concept notes for the second round of grants from the Maendeleo Agricultural Enterprise Fund (MAEF) Competitive Value Chain Fund.

Farm Africa is looking to award 6 grants of upto USD 128,000 each for projects of 3 years duration in East Africa.
This will help small-scale farmers to develop innovative and viable commercial enterprises that encompass agricultural adaptation and mitigation to climate change, improve incomes and have methods/approaches to improve farmers’ resilience and livelihoods in a changing climate in the long term.

Concept notes should focus on enabling small-scale farmers to exploit innovative technologies with a market focus. 
Ideas must enhance smallholder farmers resilience given the various global changes and challenges; exploit market opportunities along product value chain for specific proven technologies and develop profitably sustainable commercial enterprises.
