Lake Region Development Programme is a Community Based Organization
(CBO) working with ChildFund Kenya, a child-focused international development organization.
 
Lake Region Development Program Area is seeking to recruit a self motivated and dynamic individual to fill the position of Information Communications and Technology Officer, to be based at the Lake Region Area Office in Rongo, with frequent travel to five project areas within the area (Rongo, Kuria, Kenyenya, Kendu Bay and Rusinga).

The Area comprises five projects covering five districts in Nyanza province of Kenya .i.e. Kuria West, Rachuonyo North, Mbita, Kenyenya and Rongo Districts.

The Lake Region program Intervention areas include Early Childhood Care &
Development, Integrated Management of Childhood Illness and Youth Livelihood.
 
The Job:
 
The incumbent shall be required to offer support to the Area and projects staff to guarantee accurate, timely and quality delivery of Information, Communications Technology support services to all team members.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
The Information Communications Technology Officer shall be responsible for
  • Ongoing development of long-term IT strategies.
  • Technical and operational advice to other members of staff developing ICT dependent projects and systems
  • Identification and prioritization of IT needs in each financial year
  • Specification, ordering and installation of equipment and software.
  • Software support (within reason)
  • Maintenance and repairs to systems at all levels
  • Maintenance of network infrastructure and architecture
  • Maintenance of network software systems
  • Control over software licensing
  • Data and network security
  • Control over and maintenance of user accounts
  • The development of custom software solutions, where possible and/or reasonable within time constraints
  • Maintenance of 24-hour email and internet access
  • Data Access and protection
  • Virus protection
  • User training and end user support
  • Data backups
Requirements / Skills and Experience
 
The Ideal candidate should have the following:-
  • Degree in computer science or information technology or equivalent
  • 1-2 years experience within the same field
  • IT related certification will be an added advantage
