Job Description / Responsibility

    Responsible for overall implementation of the NJ program in the UZ.
    Ensure preparation of an Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and implement in the operation area of Nobo Jibon.
    Provide strategic guidance to field team on community mobilization and formation of community groups as per NJ strategy.
    Provide management and technical guidance to the staff for quality performance and solving field problems that inhibit productive achievements.
    Ensure that the monthly schedule is prepared for all the staffs of Nobo Jibon and activities are done as per schedule.
    Ensure preparation of budget for the project having input from all concern.
    Periodically review of budget and ensure proper utilization of limited resources to their maximum potential, for which adequate planning, organizing and controlling are essential
    Provide leadership and guidance to financial and admin staff, coordinate their work and ensure that they are aware of organizational policies and directives and that fulfill their Terms of Reference. Ensure financial accountability of staff.
    Conduct regular financial monitoring for control over expenses through Budget Expenditure Summary (BES). Analyzes budget variance, utilization of fund according to the plan.
    Introduce procurement plan and ensure proper compliance on all procurement.
    Work with team members specially finance and admin personnel for identifying support related problem issues to solve at field.
    Ensure that the financial report is prepared for the on monthly, quarterly and annual basis and submit on time.
    Present budget forecast to the senior management of SC and SAP-B.
    Ensure proper implementation of M&E activities in line with NJ’s M&E strategy and plan.
    Conduct regular monitoring visits to sites. Monitor the progress of activities to ensure that the activities are done in a qualitative and quantitative way within the stipulated timeframe. Ensure compile of monitoring findings and share with management team..
    Review the monitoring activities of the staff and gather the information through MIS and generate report for all concern and undertake corrective measures as per monitoring findings.
    Ensure that program staff communicate and report in a professional manner on MCHN, Livelihoods DRR and Gender matters
    Contribute to preparing reports on technical aspects for SC.
    Gather ideas and thoughts from staff and extract lessons learned from the project for feeding into developing new dimension of program.
    Participate in internal audit/evaluation process and take corrective measures as per findings of the audit/evaluation report.
    Ensure proper collection and maintenance of relevant records and program data/information.
    Update Program Director on the program, progress, issues and concerns in a timely manner.
    Assess staff capacity and take development initiatives where necessary.
    Organize and manage all training activities and exchange programs for staff, representatives, and community members, including selection of participants, and ensuring that training is carried out in accordance with program guidelines.
    Manage all project staff and experts assigned to the Upazila including personnel administration, work plans and performance assessment.
    Assign work to staff and ensure that they have completed activities within time frame.
    Provide leadership and guidance to staff, coordinate their work and ensure that they are aware to achieve their JDs.
    Maintain regular coordination with SC staff.
    Coordinate project activities with the GOB counterparts, UPs, CPP.
    Maintain liaison/coordination with local administration, other NGOs, CBOs at the District, Upazila andUnionlevel.
    Participate and represent program/organization in different meetings, trainings, seminars, workshops as desired by the program and organization

Educational Requirements

Masters degree in Social Science or other related subjects from a recognized University
Experience Requirements

Minimum 7 year(s) experience in Program Officer/Manager, Project Coordinator/ Officer, Supervision in NGOs



Additional Job Requirements

    This is an Upazila based position spending around 50% time in the field.
    Previous experience in managerial position is essential
    At least 7 years of working experience in the field of health, livelihoods or poverty reduction program.
    Clear understanding of socio-economic conditions of disadvantaged community, livelihood development, disaster management, small-scale farmers within which technical solutions are applied.
    Work in team, to protect children in connection, to be non-discriminatory and gender sensitive and willing to work in the remote areas inBarisaldivision.
    Ready to work in any natural disaster or emergency situation anywhere inBangladesh.

Salary Range

    TK.45000 – 45000
