Tullow Uganda Head of Corporate Affairs Job in Kampala


Head, Corporate Affairs - Kampala Based
 
Tullow is a leading independent oil & gas, exploration and production group, with interests in over loo exploration and production licences across 24 countries in Africa, Europe, South Asia and South America. 
In Uganda, Tullow has already invested over $1.3 billion and is about to embark on a major upstream development project in the Lake Albert Rift Basin.
 
As the company prepares for the next phase of development, Tullow Oil Uganda is seeking to appoint a Head of Corporate Affairs to manage corporate communications, stakeholder engagement and policy issues associated with Tullow’s existing operations and the future development of Uganda’s hydrocarbon sector.
 
This role will be instrumental in supporting operations, on-going exploration and appraisal activities, and future development planning by ensuring that sustainable and meaningful external relationships are developed with key stakeholder groups.
 
The position is a senior role in the Tullow Uganda leadership and as such it is expected that this role will also contribute to the overall leadership of Tullow’s Ugandan business. 
The successful candidate will be expected to directly support the General Manager in the various external stakeholder engagements.
 
The ideal candidate will be master’s degree qualified in business, international development, public policy or a related field and have at least ten years of experience in strategy development, Government advocacy or external affairs. 
Previous experience in extractive industries or major infrastructure development would be an added advantage. 
The candidate should be able to demonstrate an ability to negotiate and influence key stakeholders to build productive relationships which support the delivery of Tullow’s business objectives. 
Experience in managing
large and diverse teams across remote locations would also be beneficial.

They should exhibit high levels of personal integrity and have the ability to influence, inspire confidence and build trust at all levels of the organisation.
