Job Description / Responsibility
Contract Type : Service Contract (SC)
Level : SB-3
Duration : One year (with possibility of extension)
Initiate regular field visits to the warehouses for physical inventory supervision and to ensure conformity with regulations for storage of food and non-food items;
Provide on-site and written guidance to the warehouses in relations to the food and non-food items handling, commodity accounting and warehouse management;
Identify issues, analyse and report in the area of warehouse management and commodity accounting;
Assist in the training of staff, particularly ensuring that support staff are adequately trained, cross trained and address any additional training needs to achieve high working standards;
Follow up on projections of needs of requirements for the warehouse supplies/items, coordinate with relevant staff in this regard;
Follow the movement of food and non food items for the projects and operations in the country to ensure the commodity movements are timely delivered to the right destination at the right costs;
Collect statistical information related to logistics and provide analysis and inputs timely;
Prepare contracts for services related to warehouses and prepare performance review after the completion of the contracts;
Initiate regular visits to the warehouses to ensure conformity with regulations for storage of food and non food items;
Prepare cost data on various means of transport and logistics services in the country and prepare reports with analysis;
Assist with the accounting, reporting on food and non food items and ensure that internal control systems are in place and all relevant records are maintained;
Participate in the review of budget with NGOs;
Timely liaise with the staff on issues related to warehouse management;
Initiate necessary communication/ written correspondences with relevant agents, service providers and the government authorities to resolve any problems rose;
Perform othe related duties as assigned.
Results Expected: Well organised, reports and/or records, put together independently with other general guidance. Well organized work with accurate information and databases. Well managed and supervised support staff in a country office; timely administrative support in general and specialised areas.

Educational Requirements
University degree or equivalent. Candidates having diploma or certificate course in Warehouse management, Logistics/Transportation related fields from accredited institutes will be given preference.
Experience Requirements
Minimum 5 year(s)
Additional Job Requirements
At least five years of practical commercial/professional expereince in one or more of the warehouse management, transportation and ancillary sectors: road/rail transport, commodity accounting, warehouse supervision, and distribution management.
Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Bangla.
Excellent in utilising computers; MS Office such as Access, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Working knowledge in spreadsheet and other software packages.
Sound judgment; ability to extract, interpret, analyse and format data and to resolve operational problems.
Ability to work with minimum of supervision; to supervise and train staff as required; and to work effectively with people from different national and cultural backgrounds.
Ability to work with accuracy under time constraints and pressure; to deal patiently and tactfully with staff members and others and to have a high sense of confidentiality, initiative and good judgement.
