Basic Salary not including allowances: Ksh.35,275 (1,764)- 37,039 (1,852)- 38,891 (1,944) - 40,835 (2,042)- 42,877 (2,144)- 45,021 (2,251)-47,272 p.m.
KEY TASKS
Duties and responsibilities will entail:-
1. Reading through the cases allocated to them and identifying reportable cases as per the KLR Editorial Policy;
2. Preparation of case summaries for the cases identified as reportable as per the KLR Guidelines;
3. Researching on viable solutions that may improve efficiency within the legal sector;
4. Conducting legal research and preparing legal briefs to the inquiring Judge;
5. Researching on precedent setting authorities within varied jurisdictions of common law;
6. Liaising with judicial offers and judicial researchers;
7. Writing analytical summaries of written argument or evidence and assessing the argument in light of academic legal literature and case law;
8. Carrying out research on changes which Have taken place in the Laws of Kenya so as to facilitate revision of statutes;
9. Conducting situational analysis of the legal systems; and
10. Liaising with the Attorney General’s office in matters relating to the revision of Laws of Kenya.
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
For appointment to this position, a candidate must:-
i. Have served for at least two (2) years in legal related area;
ii. Have Bachelor’s degree in Law or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
iii.Have Certificate in computer applications;
iv.Have demonstrated competence and ability in editing and analyzing legal issues;
v. Have excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
vi.A post graduate diploma obtained from Kenya School of Law is an added advantage
vii.Because the Council seeks to build its capacity in the preparation of Swahili-based legal communications to its customers and the public, fluency in written and spoken Swahili will be an added advantage.
