Behaviour Change Communication Manager

Based in Hagadera refugee camp, the BCC Manager shall be responsible for ensuring effective BCC strategies are designed and implemented for the IRC program.

Key Responsibilities
  • To Guide the conceptualization and production of BCC materials in all the key languages in the camp by coordinating with program staff, community members and all other stakeholders.
  • Develop, maintain and recommend updated libraries of appropriate IEC materials /resources necessary for all programs.
  • Develop and coordinate the dissemination of BCC Materials
  • Supervise the translation of the IEC materials into key languages in the camp
  • Ensure appropriate monitoring and evaluation systems are in place for the BCC activities.
  • Ensure a community based approach and a participatory methodology in all BCC activities.
  • To train program staff and other partners on BCC Related activities
  • Prepare monthly reports
  • Plan and budget for BCC activities during the year.
  • Build the capacity of IRC Kenya and partner staff in Keeping with the new BCC strategy adopted in Kenya.
Minimum requirements
  • MA in Social sciences /community development or other relevant discipline
  • 3 years experience working in an NGO setting
  • Demonstrated experience in community development work and participatory approaches
  • Demonstrated experience in training and facilitation
  • Demonstrated experience in development of IEC and BCC methodologies relating to health and GBV
  • Excellent Computer Skills especially word processing, PowerPoint and spreadsheets
  • Willingness to work in difficult environment
  • Report writing experience
  • 3 years experience in a  similar position or related assignment
  • Excellent Organizational, communication and writing skills
